The main result of this paper is the following theorem: Let \(\Gamma\) be a nonelementary, geometrically finite, discrete group of isometries of hyperbolic \(n\)-space \(B^n\) such that \(\Gamma\) leaves no \(m\)-plane of \(B^n\) invariant for \(m<n-1\). Then the group of isometries of \(B^n/\Gamma\) is finite.
