The authors study real hypersurfaces of a complex projective space in terms of the Jacobi operator. In particular, they investigate the condition \(R_\xi=k(I- \eta\otimes \xi)\), where \(R_\xi\) is the Jacobi operator with respect to \(\xi\). It is also proved that a complex projective space does not admit a locally symmetric real hypersurface.
