Symmetric pairs for quantized enveloping algebras (Q1818882)

Let \(\theta\) be an involution of a semisimple Lie algebra \(\mathfrak g\), and let \(\mathfrak g^\theta\) denote the fixed Lie subalgebra, and assume the Cartan subalgebra of \(\mathfrak g\) has been chosen in a suitable way. The author constructs a quantum analog of \(U(\mathfrak g^\theta)\) which can be characterized as the unique subalgebra of the quantized enveloping algebra of \(\mathfrak g\) which is a maximal right coideal that specializes to \(U(\mathfrak g^\theta)\).
