In this article of five sections, the author studies a few properties of convex sets by duality. Section 1 is introductory. Tangent and exposed points are addressed in Section 2. The content of Section 3 and 4 is mostly a detailed presentation of the results announced in Dokl. Akad. Nauk SSSR 354, No. 5, 597-599 (1997). In Section 5 the author introduces Gâteaux differentiability locally convex spaces and studies their general properties.
