This paper generalizes the results of \textit{L. Rodrigues} and \textit{R. Tribuzy} [Math. Z. 185, 321-331 (1984; Zbl 0524.53038)]. It gives global reduction of codimension for compact (or complete) submanifolds with some osculating space of constant dimension in a simply-connected space form.
