This paper investigates some topological properties of the semi-open sets in fuzzy setting first introduced by \textit{K. K. Azad} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 82, 14-32 (1981; Zbl 0511.54006)]. Weak and strong separation of two distinct fuzzy points in a fuzzy topological space are defined. The authors show that the \(semi\)-R\({}_ 1\) axiom is strictly weaker than the \(semi\)-T\({}_ 2\) axiom in a fuzzy setting. The concept of \(semi\)-T\({}_ 1\) identification space is introduced and some properties of such spaces are investigated. Using this concept semi-induced relations and the point semi-closure functions are generalized and studied.
