We investigate a reliability system which is comprised of N components, operating independently (in parallel) and having the same lifetime distributions. At time-points \(t_ k=kd\), \(k=1,2,..\). always only a sample of n components is checked \((n\leq N)\) and repairs follow immediately after failures are detected. The following operating characteristics and their asymptotic behavior are considered: (1) the point availability of a component at a given time-point t; (2) the renewal probability of a component at time \(t_ k=kd\), \(k=1,2,..\). and (3) the interval availability of a component.
