The motion of a Geosynchronous satellite has been studied under the combined gravitational effects of the oblate Earth (including it's equatorial ellipticity), the Sun (including its radiation pressure) and the Moon. The entire study will be presented in series of papers. The equations of motion are determined in a synodic co-ordinate system. Further we have deducd the equations of motion when (i) orbit is in the equatorial plane and (ii) the satellite is a geo-centric synchronous. In subsequent papers we will study the orientation and the regression of the orbital plane, the ground trace in different cases and finally the effect of Earth's equatorial ellipticity alone on the motion of the satellite in the orbital plane.
