This paper generalizes earlier results of \textit{D. E. Carlson} [ibid. 1, 145-151 (1971); 2, 129-134 (1972) and 3, 169-178 (1973)] concerning conditions under which solutions of classical isotropic elastostatics are independent of Poisson's ratio. The present work considers generalized boundary conditions.
