The author considers the stability of a plasma filament as a thin annular conductor relative to vertical displacement with allowance for a ferromagnetic. The mathematical description of the model consists of the electrotechnical equations for the conductors that stabilize this motion, and the equations of motion for the plasma filament. Stability criteria are obtained for an iron-core tokamak.
