Über faktorisierbare Lösungen Riccatischer Differentialgleichungen (Q1820288)

The authors consider the Riccati equation \(w'=a(z)+b(z)w+c(z)w^ 2\) where a,b,c are entire or meromorphic. They assume that \(w=f\circ g\), where f is a nonconstant meromorphic function and g entire and transcendental. Under these hypotheses various estimates on the characteristic functions T(r,g) and T(r,w) are derived. As a special case, they obtain an earlier result of \textit{E. Mues} [Math. Z. 121, 145- 156 (1971; Zbl 0265.30010)], where it was shown that if a,b,c are polynomials, then f is transcendental and meromorphic and g is transcendental and entire.
