O(4)-invariant solutions in Yang-Mills theory with scalar field (Q1820458)

The author shows that by using the 't Hooft representation in the Yang- Mills model with isodoublets of complex scalar Higgs fields one gets a scalar theory with nonlinear interactions. Then he gets some O(4)- invariant solutions and proves the existence of solutions of instanton type. The explicit examples of O(4)-invariant solutions are: instanton- anti instanton, meron-instanton. Explicit examples of non self-dual instantons are constructed, too.
