Discussed is a method determining the adequacy (relevancy) of a relational system forming a mathematical model of a real system. Criteria of adequacy of the model are formulated at several levels of generality and they are nested in a form of a hierarchical structure (level of physical quantities, level of sets of physical quantities, level of relations). Since these criteria are of a fuzzy character, a formal tool of fuzzy sets, namely fuzzy measures, is utilized. An illustrative numerical example is provided as well.
