Inverse boundary problem for a solid (Q1820938)

In a paper by the second author [Prep. No.8, Phys. Fac., Moscow State Univ. (Russian) (1984)], the possibility of reducing the solution of an external inverse boundary problem of the first and second kind for the Helmholtz equation to solving an inverse problem for the Helmholtz equation in a space with refractional inhomogeneity c(x) in the case of scalar waves. In the present work, expressions are obtained allowing the inverse problem of the scattering of sound at inhomogeneities of the medium in a solid and the inverse boundary problem for a solid to be considered from a single viewpoint.
