Nonlinear convection in the presence of a vertical magnetic field (Q1820976)

The present investigation provides a comparison between the results based on analytical approximation method and numerical methods to the problem of nonlinear convection, in the presence of a vertical magnetic field. There is a fair agreement between the two methods and the analytical approximation method yields \(R^{1/3}\) law for the Nusselt number. The results of the analytical method show that for a given value of Q heat convection attains a constant value at large values of \(\alpha\) and finally becomes independent of \(\alpha\).
