The well-known method of tearing: \(''Mz=d\), \(M=A+B\), A simple, solution of linear systems only with A and the small non-zero partition of B'' is considered and generalized to the cases, when M is not square. It is pointed out, that this method is only advantageous, if A has a special form, f.i. block-diagonal or block-banded. Because there are some systems to be solved independently, the method is well suited for multi- processor-architectures.
