    Two distributed-system models representing modifications of the Preparata-Metze-Chien diagnostic model are investigated. When the sufficient condition for t-fault diagnosability fails, the proposed procedures for decoding of the system syndrome identify the minimum number of operating units for which the technical state of the entire system can be uniquely determined by additional testing.
