The paper deals with so-called dht-symmetric categories in the sense of \textit{H.-J. Hoehnke} [Colloq. Math. Soc. János Bolyai 29, 373-412 (1982; Zbl 0492.18007)] and their interrelations with dominical categories, which were considered by \textit{A. Heller} [Atti degli incontri di logica matematica, Vol. 2, Siena/Italia 1983/84, 339-344 (1985; Zbl 0592.03032)] in order to axiomatize categories of partial morphisms.
