The aim of the present work is to prove existence and uniqueness for the solution of a boundary value problem associated to a particular linear higher order elliptic partial differential equation, in non-divergence form, with discontinuous coefficients. The form of the operator and the hypotheses on the coefficients are too technical to be reviewed here. The work extends previous results by \textit{C. Miranda} [Ann. Mat. Pura Appl., IV. Ser. 63, 353-386 (1963; Zbl 0156.340)], \textit{F. Mandras} and \textit{G. Porru} [Ric. Mat. 31, 191-206 (1982; Zbl 0528.35033)], \textit{A. Canfora} and \textit{P. Zecca} [Ann. Mat. Pura Appl., IV. Ser. 141, 369-384 (1985; Zbl 0593.35034)].
