This paper addresses the numerical treatment of boundary singularities using the finite difference technique. Two different procedures are tested and compared for the title problem: the first consists of a coordinate transformation which produces a mesh refinement in the real problem domain in the vicinity of the singularity and the second involves a transformation of the problem to one which is free from singularities. In both cases the dynamic ADI method is applied to solve the discretized problem.
