Three-point schemes of second and fourth order of accuracy are considered for the nonlinear problem \[ a(x)y''+b(x)y'=g(x,y),\quad x\in (\alpha,\beta),\quad y(\alpha)=z_ 0,\quad y(\beta)=z_ 1,\quad q(x)>0, \] which require one and three evaluations of g at \(x_ i\) and at the nodal points \(x_{i-1}\), \(x_ i\), \(x_{i+1}\), respectively. The proof of the accuracy of the schemes is given for \(a=const\), \(b=const\). Results of numerical experiments are presented.
