This note brings a modification of the definition of fuzzy field introduced by \textit{S. Nanda} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 19, 89-94 (1986; Zbl 0602.15002)]. The reproved characterization of fuzzy fields is an analogy of suitable characterization of fuzzy groups [cf. \textit{A. Rosenfeld}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 35, 512-517 (1971; Zbl 0194.055), Proposition 5.6].
