This paper considers the calculation of secondary bifurcations by purely numerical methods. A model problem of one nonlinear elliptic partial differential equation in two independent variables is treated. By means of continuation and local perturbation methods secondary branch solutions can be detected. Both the bifurcation branches and the corresponding modes are computed.
