Characterization of weights in best rational weighted approximations of piecewise smooth functions. II (Q1824786)

This paper extends the authors' previous study [see the paper reviewed above] characterizing those weights for which weighted \(L^ p[0,1]\) complex rational approximation gives exponential order of approximation for piecewise analytic functions. Here the authors generalize the approximants to allow a multiplicative factor times the complex rationals to be used.
