For the concept of places and valuations of near fields the author follows \textit{J. L. Zemmer} [Math. Z. 130, 175-188 (1973; Zbl 0238.16026)]. In this paper it is shown that any place of a planar near field K lying in an ordered, not necessarily planar near field F gives rise to an order compatible place of F.
