Families of unimodal maps \((T_{\lambda})\) are considered. The results of Guckenheimer are extended to show that there is a positive measure of \(\lambda\) for which \(T_{\lambda}\) has a finite absolutely continuous invariant measure. The appendix contains general theorems for the existence of such measures for some Markov maps of the interval.
