The authors treat a gated M/G/1 problem. It works in the following manner: The arriving customers have to wait in front of the gate. They are admitted to service all at once if the server becomes idle. The authors investigate mainly a processor-sharing type service rule of the batch of customers in service. They evaluate the first two moments of the waiting time and the response time.
