For the difference equation \(u_{k+2}= f(k,u_k,u_{k+1})\) with the conditions \(\Delta u(0)= A\), \(\Delta u(N)= B\) the existence of a solution is discussed by means of order lower and upper solutions. In particular cases the sign of the solution is studied.
