The paper studies nonclassical symmetries of one-dimensional reaction-diffusion systems of \(\lambda-\omega\) type. Functional forms of \(\lambda\) and \(\omega\) have been determined for which the system admits nonclassical symmetries. Among the obtained several classes of exact solutions, asymptotically periodic plane waves appear as similarity solutions of the \(\lambda-\omega\) systems. A family of solutions have been also obtained which exhibit blow-up processes.
