The authors study the problem of continuous-time blind deconvolution of a pulse amplitude modulated signal corrupted by additive noise and transmitted through an unknown channel. They use Laguerre filters to estimate the model of the channel and the shift property of these filters to derive a minimum mean square error estimator to recover the symbols that have been transmitted. The method resembles FIR-type schemes for the discrete case and have the advantage of incorporating physical a priori information into the model.
