In this paper Veronese varieties of any degree \(d \geq 2\) over a Galois field are studied. It is shown that some of the known caps in a Galois field can be obtained by projecting Veronese varieties from a suitable projective subspace into a suitable complementary subspace. Moreover, the Del Pezzo surface in a projective space of dimension 9 and its projections in a projective space of dimension 3 are studied.
