The paper concerns with the analysis of a predator-prey system in heterogeneous domains. Global existence result is given for the problem with spatially variable coefficients. For highly heterogeneous systems, a simpler model with constant coefficients is derived which yields the macroscopic dynamic of the predator-prey system.
