The present paper deals with the regularity properties of the solutions to a boundary value problem for the prescribed Levi curvature equation on a bounded domain \(\Omega\) in \(\mathbb{R}^3\). As an application the \(C^\infty\)-solvability of the Dirichlet problem related to the same equation is discussed.
