Two theorems are stated concerning the existence of positive solutions to singular semi-positone boundary value problems. The second-order (rather general) differential equations are related to Dirichlet boundary conditions. The sequential approach is combined with topological transversality arguments, sometimes also called the topological essentiality due to A. Granas.
