The authors commence by writing down a dicretization of the governing differential equation and the subsidiary relation. They then proceed to obtain error estimates. Next, they develop an approximation for the advection numerical flux involving a triangulation grid, and the associated error analysis is given. Some numerical results for special one and two dimensional problems for which exact solutions are known are given for a number of dispersion and Péclet numbers. The approximating system are satisfactory for these.
