    The author analyses the numerical splitting method for kinetic equation for decreasing Knudsen number and increasing time step. The analysis is focused on the fulfillment of accuracy criteria. Numerical solution of the one-dimensional time-dependent problem of flow development induced by a tangential discontinuity in a bounded domain is discussed as an example.
