The authors present a self-organizing neural network based fuzzy system. The number of rules is reduced by partitioning the input space in a flexible way. The training algorithm combines the self-organizing counter-propagation network and the gradient descend method. Using the above, the learning speed is faster than the back-propagation algorithm.
