The author proposes a mixed finite element method for elliptic Dirichlet problems \(-\text{div}(A \nabla u) = f\) on convex polygonal domains in the plane. The problem is solved by domain decomposition, with updates using the Schwarz alternating procedure. It is shown that the method converges.
