In this article, the characterization of the Schechter essential spectrum of a closed and densely defined linear operator \(A\) on a general Banach space in terms of the spectra of certain bounded perturbations [\textit{A. Jeribi}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 271, 343--358 (2002; Zbl 1042.47002)] is given in terms of the spectra of certain \(A\)-bounded perturbations.
