The authors prove analogues of the row and column removal theorems of \textit{G. James} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. (3) 60, 225--265 (1990; Zbl 0760.20003)] for the \(q\)-decomposition numbers arising from the canonical basis in the \(q\)-deformed Fock space.
