Using a suitable convex fuzzy set, the authors axiomatize the definition of fuzzy cardinality for finite fuzzy sets. In particular, the authors characterize the cardinalities fulfilling the additivity property via the extended addition of fuzzy numbers. A similar approach can be found in \textit{M. Wygralak}'s paper in Fuzzy Sets Syst. 110, 175-179 (2000; Zbl 0945.03080).
