This paper deals with the concept of specificity of a fuzzy set, which represents a measure of information contained in it or in a possibility distribution. It consists of the degree of a fuzzy set in which it contains just one element, related to the inverse of the cardinality. The suggested generalized specificity measure uses three t-norms and negation, and it is shown that any other specificity measure is a particular case of this general definition.
