Conclusion: A general formula is presented for obtaining the transient response of damped nonlinear systems governed by an \(n\)th-order ordinary differential system with small nonlinearities, in which a large damping force acts. The general solution may be used for second-order, third-order or more than third-order nonlinear systems. Thus, there is no longer any need to treat these cases separately.
