This is a research-type note on the dual space and the support of the Plancherel measure of a commutative hypergroup. In particular, dual signed translation operators in an \(L^2\)-sense are introduced and studied. This paper is definitely no introduction or survey; unfortunately, it also does not discuss typical known examples for phenomena which are discussed in the paper.
