There are often various ways of describing cohomology groups as consisting of isomorphism classes of objects in some naturally constructed monoidal groupoid. This paper shows that this monoidal groupoid itself is often a higher-dimensional cokernel of a morphism from a symmetric monoidal groupoid of cochains to one of cocycles.
