Different strategies of spatio-temporal data visualization with interactive graphical tools including maps are considered. The authors describe a combination of the ``choropleth map'' with a dynamically linked time-series plot. Analysis of the census data of the Netherlands from 1988 to 1998 by this system is described. Different types of brushing, data transformation and classification are used.
