The plane polynomial Pythagorean hodograph (PH) curves are studied from the viewpoint of their roots. The distribution of the roots of regular PH curves of low degree is presented. The results are applied to the Hermite interpolation problem: the \(C^1\) Hermite interpolation problem can be solved using PH curves of degree \(2n+1 \geq 5\) whose roots form an isosceles triangle. Numerical examples are also presented.
