A sampling theory for curves, based on a local feature size, is presented. The properties of the proposed feature size are analyzed and compared with the standard definitions. Moreover, an algorithm for combinatorial curve reconstruction, the nearest neighborhood crust, is revised. It is proved that the new algorithm is valid under the new sampling conditions. Aspects of complexity are also discussed.
