The authors consider a variant of the card game Le Her with historical origins. The payoff function has some desirable properties. The columns of the payoff matrix \(A\) are discrete concave and the rows of \(A\) are discrete convex. The authors analysis exploit the convexity properties in the payoff matrix, allowing this discrete game to be resolved by continuous methods. In this connection see also the articles by \textit{J. V. Howard} [Naval Res. Logist. 41, 133--136 (1994; Zbl 0793.90097)] and the authors [Naval Res. Logist. 41, 669--676 (1994; Zbl 0819.90129)].
