Sufficient conditions are given for the existence of nonnegative solutions to the boundary value problem \[ u''(t)= f(t, u(t), u'(t)),\quad 0< t< 1,\qquad u(0)= \sigma> 0,\quad u(1)=0, \] with \(f: (0,1)\times (0,+\infty)\times \mathbb{R}\to [0,+\infty)\). The problem may be singular at \(t= 0\), \(t= 1\), \(u= 0\).
